Anna + Adam

Adam and Anna planned their wedding day at Bridal Veil Lakes in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge and the scenery was incredible!
Anna and I texted in the days leading up to the wedding as the forecast looked worrisome. She was praying for the rain to hold off, but as the wedding neared, it became clear it was going to be a stormy day.
When I arrived with Anna and her bridesmaids at their getting ready suite, she had already accepted that her wedding day would include rain, and she had a great attitude. Anna was ready to celebrate and get married no matter what! Her positivity throughout the day was contagious. It set the mood for her friends, family, photographer, and vendors. Anna knew that this day was about starting a new life with Adam and displaying God’s goodness through any storm.
After a rainy morning, we pulled up to the venue to see sun rays shining through the clouds and the fog burning off the lake. Tears welled in Anna’s mother’s eyes as we witnessed this gift. We were blessed with beautiful portrait time before rain set in again during the ceremony. Thank goodness for a solid tent! A little rain couldn’t put a damper on their celebration! The people, the emotions, the family and friends… It was all so special.
One of the most treasured moments of the day showed that God cares about the details and loves to give good gifts to his children. Adam’s late grandmother loved dragonflies. They mused together about how wonderful it would be to see a dragonfly on their wedding day. Adam and Anna stepped out on to a dock on the lake for some portraits. A few minutes in, Adam was astonished with tears in his eyes. A dragonfly (the only one we saw all day) had visited them on the dock. The tenderness Adam responded with in this moment was just one of many glimpses into his heart – a heart that loves Jesus, Anna, and his family unconditionally.
I have known Anna since we were young. She has always been full of joy, compassion, and kindness. I’m so glad she found a life partner who loves the Lord and shares many of the same wonderful qualities I see in Anna. Adam’s love for Anna was so clearly on display every moment of their wedding day. From their first look to their exit with family and friends cheering them on, you could see that the two of them were in a state of bliss opening their new chapter of life together.
It was an honor to capture their day!
